So this summer (2022), I began to get panicked about what would be my post-undergraduate plans. I didn't know whether I wanted to pursue a clinical route, get some work experience, or go into public health graduate school.
I began to make a podcast that helped me "hash out" my thoughts as my own form of therapy, but also turned into a passion project where I talked about public health issues I cared about.
This is when I knew that I was more passionate about population health than clinical health. I began thinking about the previous experiences that I had acquired, and noticed a pattern in my interest in epidemiology and implementation science. So, I decided to apply to UW for the Department of Epidemiology.
This was a unique experience because it for sure added a lot to my plate during fall quarter, but I am here to say that I made it! I submitted! And I will be hearing back soon.
I am not placing that much emphasis on getting because I genuinely believe that I am going to get meaningful experiences in the workforce, regardless of whether I pursue graduate school right after.
Attached is the link to my podcast.
